Assistant Instructor
Kayla Fontaine

As a little girl Kayla Fontaine had always enjoyed watching her father practice Tae Kwon Do. She hounded her father to let her come to class with him but he said no because she was too young. Finally on her ninth birthday she received her first dobulk for a birthday present. She then started to take classes at the New England Tae Kwon Do center in Coventry, RI.

Kayla was attending classes about three times a week there. She reached the red belt level after three years of hard work and dedication. When she was twelve she decided to take a break for the summer so she could spend more time with her friends. When school came back around she still didn’t go back.

When Kayla was thirteen her family decided to move to Brooklyn, CT. When her brother, Aaron Fontaine, sparked an interest in the martial arts, her father, Roger Fontaine, searched the area for a Tae Kwon Do school similar to the one in Coventry. When he could not find one he decided to open his own school. When the New England Tae Kwon Do center of Brooklyn, CT opened, Kayla decided to return to taking classes.

Kayla Fontaine being the senior ranking student assists in the class activities and provides one on one instruction with the lower ranking students.

She is currently working towards her black belt training in the Brooklyn, CT and Coventry, RI locations.
